Malachai Boardman (alternatively spelled \"Malachi\") is a character from Stephen King\'s short story, Children of the Corn. This character was made popular by actor Courtney Gains and his film portrayal in the 1984 movie, starring Peter Horton and Linda Hamilton.\n\nBorn August 15th 1957 in the fictional town of Gatlin, Nebraska, not much is known about Malachai except for the fact that he was formerly known as Craig before the arrival of He Who Walks Behind the Rows and that he also had an unborn child with a girl named Ruth before he was sacrificed to He Who Walks Behind the Rows. Malachai was sacrificed at the age of 18 because He Who Walks Behind the Rows told Isaac to change it the age from the previous age of 19.[1]\n\nIn the film he is portrayed as a tall, violent teenager with long flame-red hair. Malachai in the film is Isaac\'s right hand man, acting out his wishes and taking care of the outlanders.
